FLORIDA GOURD SHOW DESIGN CONTEST - 2010

Theme - "Gourdin Safari - African Style"

Enter to win $25.

The Florida Gourd Society, Inc. is holding a show design contest for the 2010 state gourd show. The winning design will be used on t-shirts and possibly other items sold at the 2010 Florida Gourd Show as well as being used for show publicity.

You do not need to be a member of the Florida Gourd Society to enter.

Entries will be accepted from June 25 through July 31, 2009

DESIGN ENTRY RULES:

1. The design needs to illustrate the show theme - "Gourdin Safari - African Style"

2. The number of colors used for the design is limited to 5 (white and black count as colors).

3. The only words you may use are the show theme words - "Gourdin Safari - African Style".   ( The COMMITTEE will add Florida Gourd Society,Incorporated  under the design.)   [The focus needs to be on the design rather than on a message.]

4. Do NOT include any dates.

5. In order for the winning entry to be sent directly to the printer….

A) Submit your designs on either 8” x 10” white card stock or bristol board (available at most art supply stores or Michaels).  The 

      production companies will be able to scale it to whatever size is needed.

B) Use black ink to outline your design - a sharpie is fine for this.

C) Color your design with the colors you would like used on the finished     product.

6. On the BACK of your entry - PRINT WITH PENCIL your name, address, phone number, and e-mail if you have one as well a suggested shirt color.  (Pencil is required so that it won't show through onto the design side. )

7. Mail your entry in a stiff mailing envelope or in a bubble mailer with stiff cardboard.

8. The entry must be RECEIVED no later than July  31, 2009.

9. The prize will be $25.

10. Entries will not be returned.

SELECTION PROCESS

The design entries will be posted on the FGSI website by August  4, 2009.

ONLY FGSI members are eligible to vote and may only vote once.

Voting will take place via the FGSI website starting Aug. 5 and ending on August 20 . If an FGSI member does not have home access, voting may be done at a public library via their Internet system. 

The winner will be announced on the FGSI website on August 25, 2009, as well as in the FGSI newsletter which will be coming out at a later date.
