GINGER JARS

Description:  An Asiatic jar formerly for storing ginger created by combining 2 gourds.  The body of the gourd jar can be a club, tobacco box or small martin: the top can be almost any miniature.  We will create the illusion of a bottle by decorating and attaching embellishments.  The focal point will be an Asiatic figure, animal or symbol.  We will wood burn the figure then color with inks or metallic paint.  Cordage and accents will complete the jar.  Instructor will supply 2 gourds, many patterns, all paints/inks, cordage and beads. 

Student should bring thermostatic wood burner.
