CAMEO – DRY VASE

Description:  Cameo, a gem carved in relief.  We will be making a dry vase with a cameo carved into the vase as focal point of the design.  Using a dipper or bottle gourd we will cut off the top to make the opening for the vase.  The vase may be natural or stained.  The design will be chosen and attached then cared with power carver.  This is a basic, beginning power carving.  A border around the cameo and the neck of the vase will be added.  Design is planned for dry or silk flowers, not included.    

Student should bring dremel or power carver, small ball burr, small Inverted cone (If you have one) and dust mask.
