2015 Festival Classes

Florida Gourd Society, Inc.

A group of Floridians interested in growing and crafting gourds got together and formed the Florida Gourd Society, Inc. Actually, we're the Lambda Chapter of the American Gourd Society - one of twenty-three such state chapters in the U.S. having the common goal of enjoying and promoting gourding as a hobby.

The NorthEast Florida Patch meeting to be held December 14 is cordially inviting anyone to attend. Our meeting will host a visiting instructor, Selma Carrow. Selma will instruct us on how to make a gourd angel. She will show you how to stabilize the gourd on a base and then paint the dress, face and add alpaca wings. The cost of the class will be $10 per person for the base, wire, alpaca, quikwood and instructions (supplied by Selma). The cost of the two gourds (body and face) and then paint supplies will be $8 supplied by Terry Jordan. The total cost of the project will be $18.
